JoAnn Krizman Spolar

December 8, 1941 - June 18, 2025

JoAnn Krizman Spolar, 83, passed away peacefully on June 18th, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on December 8, 1941, in Butte, Montana, to "Coca-Cola" Joe Krizman and Helen Rajhai Krizman, JoAnn was a proud Croatian who grew up in East Butte and remained a devoted member of St. Ann's Catholic Parish. A self-made businesswoman, her leadership of the family-owned Summit Valley Industries played a key role in shaping numerous neighborhoods throughout Silver Bow County and the surrounding areas. Known for her impeccable memory, sharp wit and inner strength, JoAnn was a devoted mother, grandmother, and matriarch of five generations.

She is survived by her children: Chris Spolar, Mark Spolar (Kathi Faroni), and Linda Spolar; daughter-in-law Kari Spolar; her cherished grandchildren: Andrea Fullerton (Rob), Krystin Spolar, Marky Spolar, Mikelann Spolar, Roxzan Spolar-Weinstock (Joree), Brittney Spolar, and Sasha Hollingsworth-Harris (Ryan); along with 16 great-grandchildren; and one treasured great-great-grandson.

JoAnn is also survived by her cousins, Stanislav and Veraca Majnaric, whom she proudly welcomed from Croatia in 1991. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved Auntie Ann.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1st, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, with visitation at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, and a luncheon for family and friends will be held at St. Ann's Community Hall beginning at 1 p.m.

JoAnn had a deep love for animals, so in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society in her honor.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
