Robert Knoedler Obituary

Robert Joseph Anthony Knoedler passed away at his home surrounded by loving family after a long battle with illness on March 5, 2025. He was 72. Born on December 6, 1952, in Sacramento, CA, Robert was the youngest son of Agnes Marie and Leo Leonard Knoedler. He spent his early years in California before his family relocated to Baltimore, MD, and then Chestertown, where he met his beloved wife, Margaret. They married on June 15, 1975, and raised a cherished daughter together.

Robert was a dedicated employee of the Campbell's Soup Company, where he served as a forklift operator overseeing the back dock. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was a skilled cook, sharpshooter, and recipient of the National Defense Service Medal.

In 1980, Robert joined the Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company, where he found a true calling. Many of you will remember Robert as a familiar face at emergency scenes, diligently managing traffic flow. He was a devoted community servant, holding the position of Captain 6 Fire Police, and was deeply committed to the mission of the Chestertown VFC. Robert was often the first responder and worked closely with the Chestertown Police Department during local events. He dedicated countless hours to the firehouse and the community he loved.

Robert will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, his captivating stories, and his kind heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his brother, Leo Knoedler.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Margaret Knoedler; daughter, Jennifer Andrade; sister, Agnes "Angel" Knoedler; 2 grandchildren, Ann Marie Torres, Norma Torres; and cousins, Cheryl Nelson and Rosemary

A Celebration of Life Ceremony is to be held at the Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company at 11am on Saturday, March 22, 2025, with a gathering 1hour prior and reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Knoedler Family at the Peoples Bank in Chestertown Maryland at 600 Washington Ave, Chestertown, MD
