Annie Mae Townsend-Barnett, born on December 07, 1967, to parents Willie C. Townsend and Frances Mae Townsend (Kelly) in Chester, PA, peacefully passed away at home on June 20th, 2025.
Annie is preceded in death by her mother and father, Willie and Frances Townsend, mother-in-law Maylee Barnett, brother Willie C. Townsend Jr, sister Annette Townsend, grandchild Hezekiah, uncles Edward, James, Marvin, Tootie, Robert, and aunts Cassie, Betty, Colleen, and cousin Helen.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories: Her loving and devoted husband Otis Barnett Sr. Daughter Antwanetta Christina Townsend Squaire (Desmond), sons Andrew Townsend (ShanQuiee) and Otis Barnett Jr (Chakariah), children of her late twin sister, whom she considered her kids Bobby Joe Gavin Jr, Shaniece Gavin, and Shaneka Gavin, sisters Delphine (Ray) McKinnon, Taundra (Lance) Roberts, Francine Townsend, and brother Dennis (Kristy) Townsend. Aunts Wilheminia Walls, Mary (Isiah)Warren, Hazel Kelly, Carolyn Kelly. Grandchildren: Kenyon, Avante, Briyon, Andrew (Peewee), ZaRiyah, Jaliyah, Adrian, Dasani, Bishop, Messiah, Amina, Talaydria, Kaliyah, Anyla (Nyla), Anthony, Milani(Minnie), Dynasti, Carter, Dior, DesAray, Jayelin, Iyannah, Omari, Dallas. Extended family and special friends Karen Boddie, Larry and Denise Curry, Monique Moore, Annamarie Head, Michelle Madison, her beloved dog Bella, and a host of others
Annie was known for her love for education, finishing with a master’s degree in psychology, and was entering her PHD program this fall. She was a devoted employee for Jobs and Family Services of Franklin County with over 25 years of service. She will be remembered for many professional accomplishments and achievements within her department.
Annie was a devoted member of Elevation Church (Pastor Kirk Napper and Lady Sarah). Her faith and belief in God led her life and everything she did. Her heart was big enough to love everyone, especially her children and grandchildren, whom she lived for every day of her life here on earth.
Annie's memory will be cherished by family and friends. May she rest in eternal peace.
