Matthew James Dunfey II, entered into rest October 19, 2025. He was born in Spokane Washington June 12, 1955. He was Veteran of the United States Navy.
He worked alongside his brother in Brick Masonry for many years.
He is preceded in death by his father David M. Dunfey Sr.; his mother Betty Jones Dunfey: his younger sister Mary Dunfey Peevy.
He is survived by his sister Patricia Dunfey Powell of Heflin, La., brothers David M. Dunfey II; Heflin, LA. Thomas M. Dunfey of Shreveport, LA. And John D. Dunfey of Vivian La.
Nieces and Nephews:
Bridget Dunfey; (Julia, Skylar, Jamie); Cielia Giddings; (Evan, Emmett) Christopher Peevy and wife Ember (Peyton, Adelaide, Emmerick) David M Dunfey III and wife Tiphanie; (Harper Mae), Johnnie Dunfey (Brier) Chad Dunfey (Kensley, Rowan) Brent Dunfey; wife Lauren; (Easton, Everliegh, Ember aka Emmie) Trevor Dunfey and Connor Dunfey
He enjoyed Sci Fi movies and video games. Loving and caring for a multitude of animals, which he referred to as his babies.
He loved doting on all his great nieces and nephews. He was the only one who could calm Emmie when she was upset.
His funny and loving spirit will be missed. He is healed by the grace of God.
There will be a Private Graveside Service Providence Cemetery, Ringgold, LA under the direction of Rockett Funeral Home, Ringgold, LA.
