Michael J. Sheridan, 77, of Streator passed away Friday, June 13, 2025 at his residence in Streator. 
 Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 28th at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Rev. Fr. Ryan Mattingly and Fr. Walter Miller will concelebrate the Mass. 
 Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Friday, June 27th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. 
 Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be family members. Full military rites will be accorded by members of the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492 and the Long Point American Legion Post 1217. 
 Born November 6, 1947 in Streator he was the son of James and Ramona "Ann" (Wheelen) Sheridan. He married Elaine Miller on August 22, 1970 at St. Joseph's Church in Marseilles. 
 He is survived by his wife, Elaine Sheridan of Streator; a daughter, Amy (Josh) Spears of Streator; sons, Mike (Heather Wright) Sheridan of Sterling and Rick (Alyssa) Sheridan of Hollister, California; grandchildren, Caleb (Jade) Spears of Ottawa, Kelsey Spears of Streator, Carter (Madysen Koesler) Spears of Streator, Cooper Spears of Streator, Colin Sheridan of Streator; and Sophia and Annika Sheridan of Hollister, California; brothers, James (Cindy) Sheridan Jr. of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Patrick Sheridan of Panama City Beach, Florida and Matthew Sheridan, Sr. of Flowery Branch, Georgia; a sister, Barbara Craig of Streator; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. 
 He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, David and Mark Sheridan. 
 Born and raised in Streator he attended St. Anthony Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1965. He later attended Illinois Valley Community College. 
 He served in the United States Army from 1967-1969 during the Vietnam War. 
 He was a Butcher/Meat Cutter by trade and worked through the years for A&P, Neimann Grocery and Kroger's. He later opened Mailboxes and Parcel Depot in Streator and Ottawa. In his retirement he worked for Heritage Health as a driver. 
 He was a long-time member of the former St. Anthony Church where he was active and served as a Lector. He was currently a member of St. Mary's of Field's in Grand Ridge (St. Therese of Lisieux). 
 Through the years Mike coached his boys in Streator Youth Baseball. He was a lifetime member of the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217. He was a member and former officer for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492. He was a member and Past Grand Knight for the Msgr. George A. Dzuryo Knights of Columbus Council # 790. He was a member of the LaSalle County Board. He also served on the boards and was Past-President of Marquette High School and Illinois Valley Citizens for Life. He was active with TEC and Cursillo where he was a group leader. He was also an Election Judge. 
 Mike was a very patriotic person who loved his country and his Irish heritage. He enjoyed traveling and loved the beach and spent winters in Panama City Beach. He enjoyed riding his Kubota and taking care of his lawn. He loved riding his Harley and belonged to HOG (Harley Owners Group). Family was very important to him and he loved opening his home each summer for the Sheridan family reunions. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be dearly missed by his family. 
 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Michael's Grade School, Tunnel to Towers (support for veterans to build housing), Abigail Women's Center in Mendota or the 
American Heart Association. Mass intentions are also requested in Mike's name.
