Abel Roman Obituary

Abel J. Roman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025 at the age of 92. His long life was one of service, dedication, laughter, and love - a life that touched all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born in Pico Rivera, California on April 28, 1933, to Manuel and Manuela Ramos Roman, Abel was the youngest of seven children - four brothers and three sisters - and from an early age, he stood out for his hard work ethic, loyalty to his family and a strong sense of purpose.
After graduating from Whittier High School in 1952, Abel proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served from 1952 to 1956 and became a skilled machinist. It was during this time that he began laying the foundation for a lifetime of reliability and service, both to his family and his community.
In 1955, Abel married the love of his life, Dolores Villalobos. Together they built a life marked by 69 years of unwavering partnership and devotion. Their home was a true reflection of Abel's joyful spirit - filled with laughter, love and endless stories.
For 30 years, Abel worked for Southern California Edison as a machinist and project coordinator, bringing a deep sense of craftsmanship and pride to everything he did. Even in retirement, he could not sit still. He was constantly working on something - whether it was the house, his cars, or anything mechanical he could get his hands on.
Abel had a gift for storytelling and a joke for every occasion. He had a natural charm that drew people in, and he loved nothing more than sharing a good laugh with friends and family.
Abel is survived by his devoted wife Dolores, his children Abel Jr. and Rebecca, 11 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. His legacy lives on in each of them - in their laughter, in their stories, and in the way they face the world with strength and heart.
He will be remembered not just for the things he did, but for the man he was: loyal, hardworking and full of life. His was a life well-lived, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
