A Life Remembered, A Legacy Cherished
Adeline Carmen Provencio Tabarez, lovingly known as Lina to her family and friends and Nana to her grandchildren, was born on July 16, 1931, in Santa Paula, California. She peacefully passed away surrounded by family on October 19, 2025, at the age of 94. Lina was a devoted and selfless mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and soon-to-be great-great-grandmother who dedicated her life to her family. She was always willing to give all she had to those she loved and was the heart and foundation of her family, offering wisdom and guidance drawn from a lifetime of experiences. As the cherished keeper of her family's memories and ancestry, she ensured that their stories and traditions would live on through generations.
A faithful and devoted Catholic, Lina's strength and grace were grounded in her steadfast prayer and worship. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfredo Joseph Provencio and Guadelupe Medina Provencio; her son, Rudolph Joseph Mercado; and her two grandchildren, Jonathan Mitchell Tabarez and Gabrielle Marie Tabarez. She is survived by her brother, Robert Provencio; her children, Christine Provencio, Sharon Rose Mercado, John Tabarez, Mario Tabarez, Gema Tabarez, Paul Tabarez, and David Tabarez; along with numerous grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one soon-to-be great-great-grandchild. Her grandchildren, Melissa Roberts, Scott Albert Roberts, Tanya Mercado Hickson, David Mercado, Natasha Tabarez, Jean Luke Tabarez, Ariel Tabarez, Joey Jimenez, John Tabarez, Michael Tabarez, Alex Carty, Matthew Tabarez, Mark Tabarez, Rudolph Tabarez, Vanity Solis, Rene Sanchez, Mitzy Aguirre, Ramon Silva, Arturo Silva, Allen Tabarez, Gabrielle Tabarez, William Tabarez, Marley Tabarez, Paisley Tabarez, Lily Tabarez, Kayley Tabarez, George Tabarez, Daisey Tabarez, Adeline Tabarez, and Nicholas Tabarez. Lina's legacy continues through her large and loving family.
Lina's unwavering love, faith, and devotion will forever remain a guiding light for all who were blessed to know her. Cremation is under the thoughtful care of River Glenn Cremation and Funeral Services.
