Born on March 4, 1940, in St. Martin Parish, Agnes, affectionately known as "Dora," lived a life rich in faith, love, and devotion. She was a devout Catholic, who had an immense faith, often praying the rosary multiple times each day. Her spiritual life was a guiding force that deeply influenced her actions and relationships. Agnes spent many years working at Poche's Restaurant and Market, where her warm and endearing personality left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike. She took great joy in caring for her home, cultivating her garden, and nurturing the many cats that filled her house with warmth and companionship. She was a steadfast presence in the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
Agnes's profound love for her family was evident in every interaction. She is survived by one sister, Christine Guilbeau; her niece, Michelle Landry, her husband Chris, and their child, Christian Landry, whom Agnes cherished as her own; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who were very dear to Agnes.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Alcee Castille; parents, Joseph and Malize Cormier Richard; siblings, Lena Olivier, Evelyn Tauzin, Francis Prejean, Ethel Latiolais, Joyce Credeur, and infant brother, Joseph Roy Richard.
Pallbearers will be Chris Landry, Christian Landry, Chad Jeansonne, Joel Jeansonne, Mike Ray, and Rickie Comeaux.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Cedar Crest Memory Care and Audubon Hospice for the excellent care given to Agnes.
