Alain was born in Brandon, Vermont to Joseph and Yvonne Delisle on January 28, 1944. He and his older brother, Fernand (Randy) lived on the family dairy farm until the family moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1955. Alain attended Largo Junior High and Dixie Hollins High School, graduating in 1962. He met his wife, Verline, after high school while attending a local dance. They married in 1969. Alain and Verline had 2 children, Lori and AJ.
Alain was a "Jack of Many Trades" and was known for the ability to fix most things. He owned both Big Red Trucking and a window covering installation and vertical manufacturing business. He ultimately ended his career as a project manager for General Motors.
Along the way he also managed to fix all manner of vehicles, earned his pilot's license, remodeled his house, enjoyed snowmobiling in Vermont, volunteered many years as Girl Scout cookie Dad, loved driving his 1969 Stingray Corvette to local car shows, and was a member of Ye Mystic Krewe of Neptune and a 50 year member of Nitram Masonic Lodge.
He was also an early adopter of nearly 50 years of computing advancements. Starting with his Radio Shack TRS-80, leading to building desktop computers on the dining room table and ultimately never far from his beloved iPhone or iPad.
His children will fondly remember learning how to properly hold a flashlight, knowing that he always had his Leatherman in his pocket, and knowing that if something broke - he could probably fix it, or knew someone who could.
Alain passed away peacefully at home on June 28th 2025 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife Verline, daughter Lori, son AJ, brother Fernand (Carol), and a nephew and nieces.
Alain's family will be holding a Celebration of Life on Saturday July 26th 2025 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at the Kenneth City Community Hall located at 4600 58th ST N Kenneth City, FL 33709
