Alan Richard Braget, 69, of Mizpah, MN, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at St. Lukes Hospital in Duluth, MN.
Alan was born May 30, 1955 to Alvin and Lorna (Johnson) Braget in Grand Forks, ND. He attended school in East Grand Forks, MN before the family moved to Bagley, MN where Alan graduated from Bagley High School in 1973. After graduation, Alan joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in Belleville, IL and later, Dover, DE. Alan was united in marriage to Cindy D. Blume in September of 1978 in Ocean City, MD and together they had two daughters, Heather and Jessica. They resided for a time in Dover before Alan and his daughters eventually returned to Minnesota and settled in Cloquet, where he later met and married Mary K Schulz. Alan worked for Lake Superior Xray until his retirement in 2020. After his retirement, Alan and Mary moved to Gemmell, MN.
Alan had a love of music all his life, starting multiple bands in which he played lead guitar and entertained all with his vocal talent. His family looked forward to hearing him play and sing at every family gathering. Alan had a love for life and enjoyed making people laugh. He loved fishing, hunting, and spending time in the great outdoors.
Alan is survived by his wife, Mary, daughters; Heather Braget and Jessica Braget, Step children; Danny (Wendy)Schulz, Randy Schulz, Jenny (Ryan) Rice. Step Grandchildren; Madison & Raya Schulz, Carson, Brayden, and Keagan Rice. Sisters Crystal(Paul) Sword and Lori(Russ) Shoemaker. "Brothers" Bret Byfield, David Johnson, and Brian Utech. Nephews Aaron(Melissa) Thompson and Rusty Shoemaker. Great Niece and Nephew; Paige Thompson and Spencer Thompson. Also numerous dear cousins and friends.
Alan is preceded in death by his Parents, Alvin and Lorna Braget, and other beloved family members and friends.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
