I met Al while in high school through my boy/husband. Al was shooting pool at Simps Cafe. He stepped away from the pool table to meet me. Little did I know that we would become friends from then on. I was on Morehouse campus often because Barnett attended there as well as Al. After our graduation, we saw Al frequently at our home. Al was my kids unofficial godfather. Even after Barnett´s death, Al and I remained friends until his death. We would check on each other from time to time. We would let each other know what mutual friends were doing. Al´s death has left a void in my world and my heart hurts for all who loved our beloved Al!!!

Al and I met while attending Morehouse College. Al was extremely intelligent and well read. Al would tell such funny stories. We would question the validity of some of them. I could trust and share anything with Al. We are born into our family but we choose our friends. I am honored to say that Al was my friend.

I remember the first time I met Al. My boyfriend/husband introduced me to him when we were all in high school. He was shooting pool at Simps cafe and stepped away from the table to meet me. He became my forever friend after that. He, Barnett and myself remained in each other´s lives. We would remain friends after Barnett´s death and now his death. Al was an unofficial godfather of my three kids. He always asked about them during our conversations.
