Albert John Miller, age 77, of Fraser, MI, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025, at McLaren Macomb Hospital.
Al was born on January 21, 1948, in Homestead, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Glenn and Beryl Miller. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years before working as a civil service employee at Selfridge Air Force Base, where he remained until his retirement in 2003.
A passionate gardener, Al enjoyed planting flowers from seeds and taking pride in the vibrant garden that surrounded his home. His love for flowers brought him many compliments from neighbors, which he cherished as a reflection of his dedication.
Albert is survived by his loving wife of many years, Barbara; his daughters, Melissa (Mark) VanderHagen and Krista (Larry) Piatek; and his beloved grandchildren, Molly VanderHagen, Grace VanderHagen, Lily Piatek, Gabrielle (Adam) Duke, Lauren Piatek, and Andrew Piatek. He also leaves behind three sisters: Marlene Herula, Joann Miller, and Sheri Getts; as well as five nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Rick.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 E. 15 Mile Rd., Sterling Heights, MI. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East in Clinton Twp., MI.
Al's kindness, generosity, and love for his family will be deeply missed, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
