STEVE WALKER
Steve Walker 66, Hallsville, MO passed away Friday, October 17, 2025, at the Lodge in Fayette, MO with his son and daughter in law by his side. He was born September 25, 1959, in Mexico, MO the son of the late Marion and Lila (Wefenstette) Walker.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son Kyle Walker and his wife Ashleigh of Hallsville, MO; his daughter Kayla Walker of Columbia, MO; one sister Marilyn Jones of Columbia, MO; four grandchildren Kaleb, Konner, Everleigh and Wrenleigh; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, one sister Linda Franks preceded him in death.
Steve worked as a welder for Union 562 Local for 37 years. Steve was a hardworking and skilled welder who took great pride in his craft. His strong work ethic and dedication were matched only by his love for his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shed hunting, mushroom hunting, football and watching Wheel of Fortune. He loved spending time with his friends and family, especially all of his grandchildren.
He was an amazing father and grandpa who found his greatest joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren — teaching, laughing, and making memories that will last a lifetime. When he wasn’t working, Steve could often be found in the outdoors doing what he loved most: fishing on a quiet morning or hunting alongside friends and family. He had a deep appreciation for nature and the simple things in life. Steve was more than a father to his son, Kyle — he was his best friend and greatest supporter. His guidance, humor, and steady presence will be missed beyond measure. He leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and hard work that will live on through all who were blessed to know him.
