Alicia A. Conyers, 60, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 11, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on November 18, 1964, in Troy, NY, she was the daughter to the late Edward and Alyce Van Vranken.
Alicia was a lifelong resident of Troy, and was a graduate from Troy High School. Alicia loved the Lord and regularly attended church at Latham Bible Baptist Church.
Alicia found immense joy in a variety of past times including baking, shopping, and spending time in her yard with her sweet dog, Jaxson. She especially enjoyed thriller movie nights and days out with her daughter Alyson and Dan, shopping adventures with her sister Maria, and painting and craft nights with her friends. Alicia took pride in her personal recipes, delicious coffee creations and baking beautiful birthday cakes for her grandchildren. She always enjoyed Girls Nights with her sisters, Deanna, Maria and Tricia, which included music, food, laughter, and lots of shenanigans. Alicia took great pleasure in beach vacations with her son and daughter in law, Anthony and Sarah, where she enjoyed sunrises and collecting seashells.
Most of all, Alicia's grandchildren were the source of her greatest joy and the lights of her life. Visits with Grandma included: baking with Mia, talks with Gemma, playing card games with AJ, crafts with Vinny, and dolls with Sadie Ann. Alicia longed to hold her newest grandchild, Gabriella, whom she adored.
Alicia is survived by her son, Anthony (Sarah) Conyers and daughter, Alyson (Dan Parisi) Conyers. Her grandchildren: Mia, Gemma, Anthony Jr. "AJ", Vincent, Sadie Ann, and Gabriella. Her siblings: Maria (Bobby) Van Vranken, Patricia (Lou) Hillebrandt, Deanna (Greg) Catherwood and David (Kassi) Van Vranken. Nieces and nephews: Joshua, Emilee, Tyler, David Jr., Bo, Luke, and Melody. In addition to her immediate family, Alicia is survived by a very large extended family with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Wilbert "Pooh" Conyers and her brother Edward Van Vranken Jr.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at Latham Bible Baptist Church, 495 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Latham, NY 12110 with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Elmwood Hill Cemetery located in Troy, NY.
