In Loving Memory of Allen David James
7/31/1964 – 6/19/2025
It is with deep sadness and enduring love that we share the passing of Allen James, a devoted father, Papa, Uncle, Partner, cherished coach, and trusted mentor. He left this world at the age of 60 surrounded by close family and friends.
Allen was a man of quiet strength and boundless compassion. He was the kind of dad every child hopes for-dependable, kind, and fully present. He listened without judgment, offered guidance with patience, and led by quiet example. His devotion never wavered, and his family always knew they were his priority. Allen was also a deeply caring, loving partner, providing encouragement and support through every season of life. His calm presence, warmth, and steady commitment made him a true companion in every sense of the word.
He took great pride in being a PaPa to Cailer and Colbie and never missed a chance to boast about them along with sharing his many photos. He adored his grandchildren and cherished every moment with them, including his many FaceTime visits.
As a coach, he led with heart and humility. Coaching was his way of serving – lifting others up and helping them find confidence in themselves. He was a guiding light, inspiring those around him to dig deeper, try harder, and believe in their own strength. He taught not only the rules of the game, but the values of character, teamwork, and perseverance. For Allen, success wasn't measured by wins – it was about effort, growth, and heart.
A former University of Washington football player, Allen, remained a proud Husky for life. He followed the team with unshakable loyalty. Game days were his favorite. He loved to chat about his dawgs and truly bled purple and gold.
Allen shaped countless lives both on and off the field, leaving behind a legacy not only in his own family, but in the many people he mentored with humility, wisdom, and grace. His influence lives on in the values he instilled, the care he gave so freely, and the countless lives he made better simply by being himself. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
He is survived by his loving partner Elyse, children, Cameron (Courtney) Teague and Kellen (Taliya), grandchildren Cailer and Colbie who will carry his lessons and love forward in their lives. He also leaves behind numerous family members, former players, teammates, colleagues, and friends who are forever changed by his kindness and leadership.
He often reminded us with a smile, "just remember everything's gonna be alright" and those words will continue to bring us comfort as we say goodbye.
A celebration of life will be held at Pioneer Park Pavilion in Puyallup on September 28th at 1pm. Please wear your favorite purple and gold attire. In lieu of flowers please contribute to your favorite youth sports organization.

This is Such bad news, Alan was so much more than my insurance agent, he was a man I respected. He was just one in a million, maybe even more! My wife and myself extend condolences to family and his friends. I will miss our Husky talks. Alan, pray you didn't suffer to much. May you rest forever in peace.
