July 25, 1938 – July 8, 2025
Allie Mae (Henry) Hilliard, age 86 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Fountain View of Monroe.
Born July 25, 1938, in Monroe, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Leonard G. and Martha H. (Young) Henry.
Allie graduated from Monroe High School in 1956. She was baptized, confirmed and a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Monroe.
Allie met and married the love of her life, Larry Hilliard on December 5, 1964, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church by Rev. Charles Beynon. They went on to raise a family of two children and spent over fifty-eight wonderful years together.
She was employed by Federal Department Stores in Monroe from 1957 to 1961. She was also a secretary for Monroe and Memorial Hospital for the credit manager from 1959 through 1966.
To cherish her memory, Allie leaves behind her daughter, Holly (Joe) Thompson of Monroe; son, Rob (Tammy) Hilliard of Shelby Township; grandchildren: Josh (Emily) Thompson of Monroe, Taylor (Randy Bennett) Thompson of Monroe, Bobby Hilliard of Shelby Township, and Anna Hilliard of Shelby Township; two great-grandsons, Hayden and Beckett Thompson; as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and her dog, Zoey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; parents, Leonard and Martha Henry; five brothers: one at birth, James, Lemmie. Leonard E., and Clarence; and one sister, Bernice Lewis.
Family and friends are welcome to a visitation on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Rupp Funeral Home, 2345 S. Custer Road, Monroe, MI 48161. Funeral services celebrating her life will take place on Tuesday, July 15,2025, also at Rupp Funeral Home, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Family friend, Deacon Mike Stewart, will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
Memorial contributions in Allie's memory are suggested to St. Paul's United Methodist Church or the Humane Society of Monroe.
