Alma Mary Nissen (nee Kluft) of Moorestown passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at the age of 100. Alma was born in Butler, New Jersey on July 18, 1924 to Walter and Phoebe Kluft. Alma moved to Moorestown in the mid-1950's with her husband Jack. Alma and Jack enjoyed raising their three boys in Moorestown and attending their many activities over the years. Alma was an active member of the Moorestown Field Club for many years, enjoying mornings on the course playing 9 holes with her girlfriends. Alma also loved to cook. Family favorites included Swedish meatballs, butter cookies, rice pudding, pies and her beloved vegetable soup. Family and friends were often the recipients of "Nan's" homemade knitting of sweaters and scarves, which she continued well into her later years. Alma will forever be remembered in her neighborhood for sitting in her side yard enjoying the sunshine with her Labrador Retrievers.
Beloved wife of the late John C. Nissen, Jr. (Jack); loving mother of Chris (Cynthia), Eric (Sandra) and Leif (Alison); cherished grandmother of Terry, Schuyler, Margaret, Annika and Anders and great grandmother to Alanna and Andra; dear sister of the late Ernest, Walter, Marie and Ruth; and dear aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
Alma loved her many dogs over the years including Lady, Taffy, Danska, Polo, Indy and Bella. Contributions in Alma's name may be made to Matchdog Rescue at www.matchdogrescue.org.
Interment will be private.
