Alma Rosa Russell, Age 60 of Taylor, Texas passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025, after her 15 year Battle with Breast Cancer. Alma Rosa Russell was born on July 30, 1964, in Allende Coahuila, México to Gregorio Lira, and Rosa Elia Rodriguez. Alma loved to dance and was a member of the Georgetown High-school Drill Team and later a Clickity Clogger.
After Highschool Alma took the U.S. Naturalized Citizenship Test, and passed it to become a Naturalized Citizen of The U.S. on April 30, 1987 in San Antonio Texas. Alma continued her education at the Austin Community College, while working at The Williamson County, Tax Office. On Oct 23, 1999 she married Craig Russell, at Graceland Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was a loving cat mom. During her 38 years of employment with the Williamson County Tax office, Alma was a highly valued employee and respected by her peers across the state.
She was instrumental in modernizing the tax office. Alma retired in August 2023 with 38 years of Service to Williamson County, and over 20 of those as Director Of Motor Vehicles.
She is survived by her loving Husband of 26 years, Craig; her parents, Gregorio and Rosa, her brothers and sisters, Maria, Olga, Gregorio, Juan, Roberto and Leticia; and 11 nieces, and nephews, and her two kitties Lady Loki, and Bam Bam.
Visitation will be held on Friday July 11, 2025 at Providence Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. (with Catholic Rosary at 7:00 p.m. with Father Banks) Funeral Service will be July 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Providence Funeral Home.
Burial will be Monday July 14, 2025 at The Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
