Alma White Obituary

Alma Jo White of Clinton, Missouri passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. After 88 years of raising children and grandchildren, reeling in fish, dragging deer out of the woods, gardening and raising the finest boer goats, she decided to take a rest. Memorial visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 PM on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel in Clinton.
Alma was born in Dalhart, Texas in 1936. She met her husband, Kenneth, in Springfield, Missouri and they eloped in 1953. Alma tolerated Kenneth for 61 years until his death in 2015.
Alma's love for the outdoors was passed along to those close to her. She was an FCC Licensed ham operator, cub scout den mother, certified hair stylist and many other things. Alma worked as a claims specialist for Farmers Insurance for many years until her retirement.
Preceding Alma in death were her parents, Walt and Alma May Wood, her brothers, Floyd Wood and Jerry Wood, and her granddaughter, Savannah.
Alma is survived by her sister, Sara Ghan, daughter, Shelly Zimmerman, son Daniel White, seven grandchildren and spouses, nineteen great grandchildren and spouses, and seven great-great grandchildren.
Her pleasant, joyful laugh will be missed by all who knew her.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.
