Alma Marie Williams went to her heavenly home, surrounded by her children, on October 27th , 2024. She was born March 6, 1932, in Rooks County, Kansas to Walter and Clara (Holsman) Vielguth. She attended schools in Phillipsburg, KS and graduated from Newton High School.

Growing up on a farm and being a preacher’s kid, Alma knew hard work and God.

Her love for horses began early in her childhood. She was a barrel racer in the local rodeo circuit. She broke horses for many people in the area to earn money; including training her own horses tricks like bowing, praying, counting, roman riding and jumping. She always rode in the Grand Entry Parades, as that ensured free admission to the rodeo. One of her treasured highlights was to meet and talk personally with Donny Gay, 8-time World Champion Cowboy and Bull Rider.

Alma’s greatest joy was being surrounded by her family. Family dinners followed by the much-anticipated games of cards – pitch, canasta, Uno, you name it, she was always ready! Even while in the nursing home, she remained active in her Bunco group, and never missed Bingo or any of their activities.

When it came to volunteering, she never said “no”. She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, worked the nursery, prepared food for every church or social function, she & her husband were High School youth group leaders, the list goes on.

In addition to enjoying her family and playing cards, Alma loved to dance. If she was watching TV, you can bet it was the rodeo channel, unless the Royals were playing! She was always ready for an adventure; just tell her to put her shoes on and she was ready to go!

Outside of her family and Church, she was involved and went through the chairs of many organizations including the auxiliaries of America Legion, VFW, and Fraternal Order of Eagles.

A loving and generous lady, Alma never knew a stranger and always invited people into her home with open arms.

Alma married Clarence Wayne Williams in York, NE January 19th, 1954. To this union 7 children were born.

Alma is preceded in death by her twin daughters Clara Marie and Cora Louise Williams, her husband Clarence “Wayne” Williams, and Son-in-law Tommie Stufflebean.

She is survived by daughters Connie Stufflebean, Sedgwick; Marsha Cooper (Colten), Newton; Patricia Moore (Jerry), Goessel; and sons Jim Williams (Sheila), Lake Waukomis, MO and Scott Williams (Laura).
