Alta Eleanor (Hansen) Norlund, age 97 of Becker MN, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 5, 2025.
Alta was born to Maria and William Hansen on January 21, 1928 in Becker, MN, the 4th child of 5. She graduated from Becker High School with the class of 1946. She then met and married the love of her life, Milton Norlund on September 4, 1948. They moved to St. Paul where she worked for MN Mutual Insurance Co. Through the years, they were blessed with nine children, Cheryl, Beverly, Delroy (Butch), Anita, Edna, Linda, Shirley, Daryl and Terri.
Alta enjoyed many activities such as gardening, cake decorating, crocheting, Red Cross blood donations (almost 10 gallons), gopher trapping, skydiving at age 80, 85 and 90 and many more. But her favorite activities were being a homemaker, wife and mother.
Alta is survived by her children, Cheryl (Bill), Beverly (Dave), Delroy-Butch (Marlys), Edna (Jim), Linda, Shirley, Daryl (Linda) and Terri. Also, 14 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by husband Milton; daughter Anita; grandsons Tony and Tim; and her brothers & sisters.
Visitation will be held from 11AM to 2PM with service at 2PM on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, 250 E. Broadway Street, Monticello. Interment to follow in Snake River Cemetery, Becker Township. Luncheon and fellowship at Snake River Church after the interment. Arrangements entrusted to Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Home. 763-295-2918.
