Althea Kilburn, 84, of Cadyville, NY, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025, at UVM Health Network: CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with her loving family by her side. She was born on July 23, 1940, the daughter of Edward and Vesta Sullivan.
Althea was well loved by an extensive extended family and numerous close friends. She enjoyed canning, making pickles, shopping, genealogy, antiques, trips to the casino, and spending time with her close friends and family. She was the cornerstone of her family and took immense joy in hosting family gatherings, especially for holidays like Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother (Gram), great-grandmother (Gigi), and friend.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Irvin “Zeb” Kilburn, two sons; John (Wilma) Kilburn and Ed Kilburn, three grandchildren; Ericka Kilburn, Amanda (Brent) Jarvis, and Cody (Jolene) Kilburn, three great-grandchildren; Ayden Jarvis, Zeb Kilburn, and Connor Jarvis, her sister; Rita Jessie, her sister-in-law; Jean Sullivan, her best friend; Linda Branham, and many loving close friends and extended family members.
She is predeceased by her parents, Edward and Vesta Sullivan, her brother, Edward (Jean) Sullivan, and her sister, Mary Redenius.
At Althea’s request there will be no public calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at St. James Church in Cadyville, NY. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
