Alveda "Ve" Pagliocca, cherished sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family, on June 30, 2025, in the Bronx, New York at the age of 77 years. She was born on April 12, 1948, in New York City, her life was a testament to kindness, love for her granddaughters and unwavering family devotion.
Ve grew up amidst the vibrant energy of New York City and found joy in the local rhythms of her beloved East Harlem neighborhood.
Known for her steadfast spirit and kind heart, Ve was a woman who lived with grace, dignity, and a deep respect for life's little rules. She loved the simple joys, especially listening to the timeless tunes of the oldies. "My Girl" by The Temptations was one of her favorites, a song that often brought a smile to her face as she danced with Jaclyn.
Her gentle spirit was reflected in everything she did, from her decades of dedicated service as a secretary in the Administrative Offices of the Nyack School District, her famous Sunday gravy, Chicken Cutlets and countless macaroni dishes.
Her greatest pride, however, was her family. She is survived by her loving son, Michael Pagliocca; her cherished granddaughters, Jaclyn Pagliocca (and her partner Zach Sheridan) and Gianna Pagliocca, who were not only her grandchildren but her closest companions and best friends. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia DiLapi; her sister- law-and brother-in-law, Gerry and Ken Lee; her husband Robert Pagliocca and many nieces and nephews who held her dear.
She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Anna DeCicco, her brother Frank DeCicco and her sister Donna Dulac.
Memorial Visitation will take place on Monday July 7, 2025, from 3 pm - 7 pm at Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home, 34 N. Summit Street Pearl River, NY 10965. All who knew Ve-or who simply knew the power of a kind word or a listening ear-are welcome to join in honoring her memory.
Grandma Ve touched many lives and left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty. She will be deeply missed-and forever remembered. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Alveda, please visit our floral store.
