Amos Taylor Jr., affectionately known as Junior, departed this life on July 22, 2025, in Wellington, Kansas, where he resided. Amos was born on August 1, 1949, in Wichita, KS, to his parents Amos Taylor Sr. and Norma Jean Taylor. Amos was a creative and witty individual known for his funny demeanor and supportive nature. His clever sense of humor brightened the lives of his loved ones, while his witty charm and creativity were evident in his work and hobbies.

Amos was a self-employed entrepreneur in the scrap metals industry, having previously had a successful career as a truck driver. His dedication and hard work during his trucking years allowed him to travel to all lower 48 states and earned him his million-mile coin. Following his retirement, Amos developed a passion for woodworking, with a specialty in crafting wishing wells. An avid fan of Westerns, particularly Gunsmoke, Amos also found joy in sports betting, his strategic mind often leading him to victory. Above all, what mattered most to Amos was his family, whom he loved deeply and unconditionally.

Amos is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Rose Marie Taylor, and his children, Eric Taylor, Jimmie (Josh) Taylor, Anna (Curt) Taylor, Norma (John) Taylor, Jeffery Taylor, and Billie Jean (Dean) Saltkill. He was a beloved grandfather to Schyler, Delaney, Braxton, Destiny, Stormie, Bradley, Cortnie, Colton, Austin, Taylor, Karter, Hailey, Ansley, Kaeleigh, Kayla, Arthur, Abigail, and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Sherleen Hurd. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos Sr. and Norma Jean Taylor, daughter Sheryl Taylor, his sister Dorothy Gansbauer, brother Dan Taylor, and great-grandson Knox Long-McCreary.

Donations may be made in his memory to Bryce Day Memorial Foundation. Contributions may be mailed or left with the funeral home.

A private family service will take place at a later date. His family invites everyone who knew him to share their memories and upload photos on the memorial page. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family. Amos's legacy is a testament to a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and an enduring spirit of resilience.
