Andra Kay Galloway, a vibrant spirit whose laughter could light the darkest room, passed away on July 12, 2025, in Liberty, Texas at the age of 76. Born on July 27, 1948, in Port Arthur, Texas, Andra lived her life fully, embodying an outgoing and caring nature that endeared her to all who were lucky enough to cross her path.
For many years, Andra dedicated her professional life as a ticket sales manager at Lamar University, a role that reflected her commitment to community and connection. However, it was her passions outside of her career that truly defined her. A beloved matriarch, she thrived in the company of her family. Andra found joy in the simple pleasures—spending days fishing and camping with loved ones, oftentimes sitting on the porch with a warm cup of coffee, watching her grandchildren play and tending to her ducks and chickens. Andra felt an unwavering joy amidst these ordinary moments, an essence that will be profoundly missed.
Her love extended beyond family, as she actively participated in the Masonic lodge, the Eastern Star, and Rainbow, exemplifying her heartfelt devotion to service and community. Whether she was sewing a handmade gift or crafting beautiful pieces of jewelry, creativity flowed through her art, much like the warmth she spread to every person she encountered.
Andra's legacy will be carried on through her cherished children: Crystal Smith, Belinda Cotney, Brad Galloway, Sam Primrose-Maddy and husband Randy, Douglas Galloway and wife Brandy, and April Dattalo along with Chuck Dattalo. She took immense pride in her 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren,3 great-great Grandchildren, each an extension of her boundless love. Her brother, Len Baker, and wife Virgie, also mourn the loss of a sister who brought joy and strength into their lives. Further, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, each touched by her kindness and warmth.
Andra is preceded in death by her loving husband of 29 years, Roscoe Perry Galloway, her son Perry Marvin Galloway, and her parents, Deward and Mary Frances Green Baker.
A memorial gathering to honor Andra's life will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Faith & Family Funeral Services in Batson, Texas, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
