Andrew Nicholas DiCamillo, a man of profound faith and boundless love for his family, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025, in Poughkeepsie, NY, at the age of 85. Born on February 22, 1939, in Yonkers, NY, to the late John and Clara (Bottino) DiCamillo. Andrew's life was a testament to the values of hard work, dedication, and the importance of family
Andrew's heart belonged to his beloved wife, Ann Marie DiCamillo, who was his partner in life and the love of his life. Together, they built a family that included their daughter, Ann Marie and her husband, Peter Quartironi, and their son, John and his wife, Sandra DiCamillo. Andrew's legacy continued to grow with the joy of his grandchildren, Samantha, Nicholas, and Joseph and his great-granddaughter, Nora. He was brother to Tony DiCamillo and was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Ginger DiCamillo. He also had two sister-in-laws Carolyn Kaseta and his brother-in-law Bill Kaseta who was predeceased and Alice and her husband Pat Mitchell. His sister-in-laws were more like sisters to him. Andy also had many nieces and nephews that were a very important part of his life.
An alumnus of the Academy of Aeronautics and a student at N.Y.U. in New York City, Andrew's career as an aircraft mechanic for Delta Airlines was marked by meticulous skill and a commitment to safety. His work was not just a job but a lifelong passion that he approached with the same care and attention that he devoted to every aspect of his life.
Andrew's interests were many, but none as dear to him as his family, which was the most important part of his life. He was a passionate golfer, finding both challenge and relaxation on the greens. His dedication to his community was evident through his lifetime membership in the Knights of Columbus, where he found fellowship and an avenue for service.
The grandchildren were Andrew's greatest joy and he cherished every moment spent with them. His faith was the cornerstone of his existence and he was an active parishioner at St. James the Apostle Church in Carmel, where he lived his beliefs through both word and deed.
Those who knew Andrew would describe him as faith-filled and handy, always ready to lend a hand.
Andrew's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. His was a life well lived, full of moments that will be treasured and stories that will be told.
As we bid farewell to Andrew Nicholas DiCamillo, we celebrate a life that was rich in love, faith, and service. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his legacy will live on through the family he adored and the countless lives he touched.
