Andrew Lindner Obituary

Andrew "Andy" Lindner (90) passed away peacefully, on Sept. 12, 2024, after a years-long fight with cancer.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 67 years, Dolores (nee Schmidt), his sons Daniel and David (Ruth), daughter Jodi (Doug), granddaughters Krista (fiance Tyler) and Nicole, grandsons Ryan and Jacob, siblings Tom (Loraine), Joan, Tess, Carmen, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents Andrew and Katherine (nee Gries), as well as brothers and sisters Bob, Pete, Rita, and Lucille.
Andy proudly served his country in the National Guard. Throughout his adult life, Andy and his brother Bob built a successful excavation business. Lindner Brothers is still in operation today and managed by his nephew. Andrew was a founding member and usher at St. Leonard Catholic Church in Muskego. He was a certified volunteer instructor with the WI-DNR snowmobile safety program, instructing over 1,000 students in the Muskego area while he was a member of the Icetronauts Snowmobile Club.
Andy loved country music and polkas. Anyone who knew him knew that he was always ready to lend a helping hand with any project.
The family would like to thank Andy's doctors, oncologists, and the kind, compassionate VITAS Hospice staff Terri, Sherri, Tammy, Katie, Dr. Liang, Chaplain Russ, and Chaplain Michael.
We were blessed to have an incredible and loving husband, father and grandfather. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him, even after working 10-hour days, he'd rarely miss a sports competition, dance recital, or important Boy Scout event. He instilled in us a feeling of security, within ourselves, and kindness toward others. We admired his faithfulness, dependability, and ability to light up the room with his friendliness, humor, and wit.
We pray that Andy finds eternal rest at St. Leonard Catholic Church's Columbarium in Muskego, WI. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be designated to St. Leonard Catholic Church or St. Gabriel Catholic Parish.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:45 at St. Leonard Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon.
