Angie Dorsey
Angie Dorsey, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away leaving behind cherished memories for all who knew her.
Born in Guilford County, NC, Angie was the youngest child of Pete Morrison and Laura Faye (Harp) Morrison. She grew up in Pleasant Garden, NC, alongside her older brother Kenneth Clark Morrison, with whom she shared a close bond, being only 17 months apart in age. Angie was the only daughter in the family and the youngest child, dearly loved by her parents and extended family, which included many cousins: Mike Morrison, Rick Morrison, Timothy Shepard, Kay Shepard, and Jamie Jarrod.
Angie first married Alan Tool at the age of 16 and later married Michael Huddy on January 15, 1989. She was blessed with two children whom she adored deeply: her daughter Nicole Elaine Huddy, born March 9, 1989, and her son Stephen Lynn Harris, born June 8, 1992. She was also a proud aunt to her nephews and nieces, Daniel Morrison, Casey Morrison, Brandon Morrison, Christopher Shepard, and Heather Harp.
Angie had a heart for helping others. She moved to Black Mountain, NC, where she worked with her close friends Jennifer Warren and Dave Martin at Recovery Ventures Center, dedicating her time to supporting others on their journeys.
In 2007, Angie moved to Asheville, NC, and worked for many years at the Waffle House on Tunnel Road, where her bright smile and kind spirit left a lasting impact on her customers and coworkers. Later, she lived in Asheville with her companion Martin Kucharski before moving to Rutherfordton, NC, in 2016 to live with her mother Faye and son Stephen.
For nearly a decade, Angie made Rutherford County her home, working as a Personal Care Aide in Bostic, NC. She approached her work with great love and compassion, touching the lives of the people she cared for.
Above all, Angie absolutely adored her children and grandchildren and spent every opportunity she could with them. She was blessed with many grandchildren: Eli Beaver and his wife Jaholya, Madison Clark, Cyrus Clark, Natali Clark, Alana Clark, Carter Clark, and Colby Clark. From sleepovers to football games, Angie treasured every moment with them. She was able to witness her grandson's graduation and her first granddaughter's graduation, as well as attend her grandson's wedding. Her greatest joy in life was the last decade she spent with her children and grandchildren, who meant the world to her.
Angie will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, strong family ties, and her deep compassion for others. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
A celebration of Angie's life will be held at Hospice of Forest City at 2 PM Saturday July 26.
