Angela (Angie) Monique DeGraff Gagnon, age 53, a lifelong resident of the Collville/Kettle Falls area passed away June 9, 2025. Angie was born in Colville on September 22, 1971, the daughter of John and Susie Chopot. She joined one brother, Tony.
Angie attended school in Colville and graduated high school in 1990 from Johnson Christian School. She married her high school sweetheart, Tony Gagnon, July 21, 1990. Angie worked at Excell Foods, a short time at Stevens County Title before finding her place in the Stevens County Auditor's Office. She loved working with people and didn't know a stranger. Everyone who knew Angie liked and loved her.
Due to health reasons, Angie quit working in 2009 and turned to gardening and her dogs (her babies). She loved to plant flowers just to see what would come up and how they would look together. She inherited her love of gardening from her parents.
Angie is survived by her husband of 35 years, Tony, at their home in Kettle Falls; her parents, John and Susie Chopot, of Post Falls, ID; her brother, Tony Chopot (Angie), of Colville; three nieces Hannah Medlen (Joey), Jenna Bourgeau (Tim), and Shelly Gagnon; and nephew Christopher Chopot. Angie is preceded in death by her nephew, Clint Gagnon.
Angie didn't want a formal funeral and always requested a fun celebration of the good times. A celebration of life for Angie will be held at the Colville Eagles (608 N Wynne Street, Colville Washington) on July 26, 2025 at high noon, to honor her love of old western movies. The family hopes that all who attend will have a funny or sweet story about our Angie.
Angie will be placed to rest at Mountain View Cemetery in a private family gathering. Danekas Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
