Anita Papuzza Obituary

Anita Papuzza

December 1, 1937 - April 17, 2025

With her sons by her side, Anita passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2025, after having blessed her family with her caring nature, generosity and strong support, and ensuring they always had what they needed to be happy and successful in their lives.

Anita was born on December 1, 1937, in Glens Falls, N.Y. to the late Robert and Isabel (Borden) Conlin. She graduated Glens Falls High School in 1956, was married and had two sons, Jim and Joe. As a single mom, she worked as an executive secretary until moving her family from the Bronx to Queensbury in 1970. Her goal was to provide her boys with an excellent education, along with a safe and happy childhood. She worked as a bookkeeper before becoming a stay-at-home mom while in Queensbury.

In 1992, she had a home built in Colonie to be near Jim and Joe's families. She loved to babysit her grandkids where they would enjoy playing in her huge basement. Besides babysitting, she enjoyed crocheting blankets, taking her family on many Disney World vacations, playing the slots with her sisters in Atlantic City, walking her dogs and writing her book. The book she published is a historical romance novel called, "Beyond Al Else", and she would want everyone to know it currently has a 5-star rating on Amazon! She was also very proud to have been ordained as a Eucharist minister. The family is forever grateful to her for introducing us to Disney World and hosting such great Christmases, which provided everlasting warm family memories. She shared most of her life with her one true love, Phil, traveling, golfing, going out to dinners, gardening and attending her sons' athletic events. She was also a great "dog" mom to her dogs, Snowball, Joey and Tippy. Family, faith and her pets were of the greatest importance to her during her life.

We have all been blessed to have had such a wonderful person in our lives and will miss her greatly. Her strength, determination, devotion and love for her family will always be remembered and cherished. Her caring ways extended beyond her family as she spent a number of years volunteering for both her church and local nursing homes.

Anita was predeceased by her siblings, Mary Springer, Irene DiGrazia, Catherine Ball, Isabel Morgan, Robert Conlin and Estelle Paris; and Phil.

Survivors include her sons, James (Jacqueline) Papuzza and Joseph (Patricia) Papuzza; grandchildren, Brittany (John) Paine, Devin (Kenneth) Goodwin, Mark (Jennifer) Papuzza and Nicole Papuzza; and great- grandchildren, Callie and Carter Paine, Camden and Harper Goodwin and Noah Papuzza. The family would like to thank all the aides, nurses, social workers, volunteers and medical personnel who have cared for her over the years while she courageously battled Alzheimer's. We are especially indebted to everyone at The Community Hospice at St. Peter's Hospital and Peregrine Colonie. We truly appreciate the kindness, care and compassion you all showed her.

Came across this as i was searching up Anita´s book. My deepest condolences to the papuzza family. It was a pleasure to work for Anita. I speak about her all the time! From curling her hair EVERYDAY at her vanity, to cutting the beautiful pink flowers on her back porch , to taking Tippy for multiple walks a day, to eating a slice of cake we had to get at Hanaford lol! To know her was to love her! Anita will be missed dearly and touched many hearts of people she came across .

Anita was a popular, fun and loyal friend as a school classmate, and she attended class reunions and stayed in touch with school friends throughout her life. We mourn her passing but rejoice she is now with her Lord.
