Ann Carter Davis Wagstaff Dembroski, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 in Clarksville, Virginia. Born on September 11, 1941 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, Ann lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure until the age of 83.
Ann spent the first 50 years of her life in western Mecklenburg County and 12 years in eastern Mecklenburg County at Tanglewood Shores; truly a lifelong member of the community.
Ann graduated from Bluestone High School in Skipwith, Virginia and a business graduate of Averett University in Danville, Virginia. Ann was employed at Spaulding Equipment Company Inc. from 1959 through 1981 as a secretary, bookkeeper, terminal operator, and Vice President. She served as a church secretary and treasurer for 7 years. Her education and experience have provided her with the knowledge of accounting, budgets, and general office procedures.
Ann completed various real estate courses from Southside Virginia Community College from 1987 through 1992 where she obtained her real estate license and worked as a realtor. During that time, she also continued completing required classes to successfully obtain a certified GRI designation. This was a vital key in helping her be knowledgeable of property values in the local area. Ann was a very dedicated, hard working and a truly genuine person.
Ann enjoyed hobbies which included golfing, boating, music, computer and above all her grandchildren. She was a member of Tanglewood Shores Golf & Country Club, Mecklenburg Country Club, Lake Gaston Not-So-Serious Golfers, Lake Gaston Computer Club, Lake Gaston Association, and also Southside Ladies Golf Association. Ann was a lifelong member of New Hope Baptist Church in Skipwith, Virginia where she was proud to share in her love of the Lord through music, playing piano and organ at New Hope Baptist Church for many years and Rehoboth Methodist Church later in her life.
Ann leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Carlee Ann Wagstaff and Troy Lewis Wagstaff; as well as her stepson, Bob Wagstaff. She is preceded in death by her son Andy Wagstaff; her first husband Thomas Lee Wagstaff, her second husband Vince Victor Dembroski, and her stepchildren, Thomas Lee Wagstaff, Jr and Michael Wagstaff.
In Ann's memory, let us remember her love for family and friends and her passion for music, golf, and her community.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at New Hope Baptist Church at 1:00 pm. Family Visitation will follow the burial. In lieu of flowers, Ann's family asks that donations be made to New Hope Baptist Church or to the charity of your choice.
