Ann Wilton Obituary

Ann Marie Wilton, 71, died on July 6, 2025 at North Adams Commons.

Ann was born in North Adams to parents Peter Wilton and Laura Scarbeau Wilton. She graduated from Drury High School before going to work at the Cascade Paper Co., where she took an early retirement due to a work related spinal injury.

After multiple surgeries and extensive rehab, she returned to independent living and continued to walk everywhere, rain or shine, since she never had a driver's license.

She is survived by her brother, William K. Brassard, cousin, Sandra Scarbeau Fallon, brother-in-law, Robert Cook, nieces and nephews, Lisa Bourell, Susan Bourell, Linda Bourell, Marybeth and Peter Laflamme, and Chad and Cindy Cook, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews Mikaela Danylin, Hart Lukens and Helena Lukens.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Rev. George J. Brassard, Jr., Gerald Brassard, Mary Cook, and Nancy Bourell.

She will be remembered for her humor, antics and practical jokes, her NY Yankees sweatshirts, and for being stubborn as an ox.

I remember working with Anne for several summers at Cascade. She made me feel like a real co-worker and not just summer help. Every once in a while, I would see her at the supermarket or walking on Main Street and she would always have a sneaky smile that would tell me she was up to no good (kidding of course). I felt honored to know her. A great person in my life. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.

Ann myself and my sister Darlene were joined at the hip. she always was my favorite cousin. She was so good to talk about our family history she gathered so much through her mother my Aunt Laura and 2 sisters Nancy and Mary. We always talked every Sat. and I will miss the calls. We had lots of laughs for sure. Something people may not know Ann had a brilliant mind. she was so knowledgeable, and we had great conversations. She would talk and talk on the telephone. Time for her to rest now. Love to eternity Sandy
