Anna Marie Raville Cox, 91 born in Malone (June 2, 1934- June 28, 2025)to Albert & Winifred (Boardman) Raville. Graduated from Franklin Academy in 1951. After graduation, she worked for several years at Pearls Dept. Store in Malone, and later on when her children were in school she worked in the cafeteria at Bangor Elementary School. She was married for 59 years to Robert D. Cox, who predeceased her in 2014. She is survived by her children Lori of Bangor, Lynn of Heuvelton, Brian of Worcester MA, Bruce (Kelly) of Loudon TN, and Brenda (Patrick Haggerty) of Hamburg, NY. She was predeceased by their daughter Barbara in 1983. She was much loved by her dear grandsons, James (Alyssa) of Raleigh, NC and Jackson Haggerty of Hamburg, NY. She was very active and supportive of their interests and needs. She is survived by a brother James Raville, two sisters Sally Watkins and Barbara Dashnaw, and her lifelong "sister" Barbara Cook Belanga. She was the eldest daughter of a huge family of siblings with many cousins, nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Anna was a very active and independent woman she shouldered a great deal of responsibility yet remained upbeat. She was honest, very hard working and loyal. She loved her extended family and looked forward to the many get-togethers for picnics, cards, singing and playing guitar and a good softball game in her backyard. She loved walks, cross country skiing, gardening, canning from their garden and was an accomplished seamstress. She played volleyball for many years. She donated blood regularly throughout her life. She, Bob and the kids spent many summers camping at Lake Meacham, often climbing DeBar Mtn. She loved watching her children perform in school concerts, plays and sports. She loved old movies and sitcoms. We will miss her homemade donuts, biscuits, bread and pies. She laughed easily and genuinely and would do anything for a friend. Any donations can be made to the Bangor Fire Department in her memory. Graveside services will be on St. Augustine Cemetery of North Bangor on August 16, 2025 at 11am with Rev. Tom Higman officiating. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.fraryfuneralhome.com.
