Anna Marie Hanning, 91, of New Straitsville passed away on July 8, 2025 at Majestic Health Care of New Lexington.
She was born on December 25, 1933 in New Straitsville, Ohio. Anna was a daughter of the late William and Clara (Ross) Fletcher. Anna attended the New Hope Methodist Church in Gore, Ohio. She was a longtime employee of the Wilson Grocery Store in New Straitsville. She loved sitting on her porch and visiting with her many friends and family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her grandson, Shawn, said it best when he described her as "a mom to four and a mother to all".
She is survived by her children Jean Ann Strohl, Jim (Lora) Hanning, John (Tina) Hanning, and Jeff (Dodie) Hanning; grandchildren Traci Vollmer, Shawn Vollmer, Shannon Vollmer, Josh Vollmer, Jamie (Chad) Geil, Stacie Hanning, Trey Wilson, Adam Wilson, Litisha (Chris) Finan, Cassie Hanning, Kayla (Seth) Rankin, Steven McClain, and Phillip Forester; several great and great-great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and the family of Bo Cox.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Francis Hanning; sister Georgia Nixon; brothers Bill Fletcher and John Fletcher; great-great-granddaughter Ivy Williams; and son-in-law Ron Strohl.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the J.E. HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME, 118 W. Walnut Street, SHAWNEE, OHIO with Pastor Mike Thompson officiating. Interment: New Straitsville Cemetery
Friends may call 11:00 AM- 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 12 at the funeral home.
