Anne Lois Carter, 88, passed away January 18, 2025, at Concord Hospital in Concord, N.H. Born in Springfield on January 4,1937 to the late Frank H. and Jeanette (Duquette) Carter, Anne also was sister to the late Frank L. Carter who were all lifelong Indian Orchard residents. Anne is survived by her brother’s children, nephews Peter Carter and his wife Lisa of Ft. Mitchell KY.; Lisa A Carter of Ludlow, MA.; Jason Carter and his wife Jennifer of Nashville, TN. and their daughter Stella Rose; nephew David Carter of Indian Orchard, and Martha Carter, the mother of her nephews Jason and David as well as many other family members and friends.
Anne was also survived by her closest friend and roommate of over 50 Years Carol LeBlanc of Meredith N.H. Anne was a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph from 1965 – 1975 and an artist by training obtaining her graduate degree in teaching at Central Connecticut State College. Anne had a lifelong career as an art and English teacher at St Joseph’s elementary school and the Lynn Public school system both located in Lynn Massachusetts where she lived for many years. Anne was a faithful communicate of St. Pius Parish in Lynn, Ma. And St. Charles Parish in Meredith, N.H. Upon her retirement from teaching Anne moved permanently to Meredith N.H. and spent many years as a snowbird with her best friend Carol at Myrtle Beach S.C.
Funeral services for Anne will be held on Saturday March 22, 2025, assembling at 10:00 am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church located at 300 NH-25, Meredith, N.H. The funeral service will follow at 11 am. Interment of her remains will be overseen By Rev. Dailey of St. Michaels Cathedral and held the following Monday morning March 24, 2025, 11am at St. Aloysius Cemetery 1273 Berkshire Ave. Springfield, Ma. Memorial contributions in Anne’s name made be made to Edmonite Southern Missions 1428 Broad St. Selma, Al. 36701 or to The Sisters of St. Joeseph of Springfield, 577 Carew St. Springfield, Ma. 01104
