Annie Martin Obituary
Annie Louise Friedley Martin went home to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at the age of 82. Annie was born in Brookhaven, MS to the late George Friedley and the late Dorothy Mae King Friedley. She was a resident of Mid-City & Gentilly for most of her life.
Annie was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Vincent Martin. She was the loving mother of 4 sons: George Skelton (Caroline), Cal Pellegrin (Brandy), her baby Daniel Martin Marino, and the late Vincent Pepper Martin, AKA Peppey; and grandmother to 5 grandchildren: Jonathan, Kayla, Angel, Jaime, & Christopher; and 1 step-grandson, Cody.
She enjoyed reading, watching Hallmark movies, crossword puzzles, drinking coffee, and driving her scooter to go shopping. One of her greatest loves was vanilla ice cream, which she had plenty of thanks to her son & daughter-in-law, Cal & Brandy who loved spoiling her. It brings comfort to them knowing she had 4 ice cream cups for dinner the night before she was called home. Annie was a firecracker but could wrap you around her finger with those beautiful blue eyes. Annie deeply enjoyed being a caregiver to the elderly. She was a devoted daughter and wife, caring for her husband and mother simultaneously until their passing. Annie will be missed terribly by her family & newest friend/roommate, Toni.
The family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude to an angel on earth that came into our lives a little over a year ago, Mrs. Evelyn, or mom as Ann called her. Mrs. Evelyn at the youthful age of 90, faithfully visited with her daughter, Toni and Ann daily. She generously fed, pampered, and provided them with laughs daily.
There will be a private interment and celebration of life on her birthday March 15, 2025 at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Metairie. Online condolences may be offered at www.gardenofmemoriesmetairie.com.
