Anthony Taylor, 86, left us on June 21, 2025, with his family by his side. "Tony" was born on October 25, 1938, to Herbert Taylor, Sr. and Margaret Taylor. Margaret later married Jake Reed.
Anthony began his career at Milen's Jewelers, a retail jewelry chain serving the San Francisco Bay Area. Starting from humble beginnings stocking merchandise, he steadily worked his way up to the role of Credit Manager. His strong work ethic and leadership skills earned him promotions to Store Manager of both the Richmond and Oakland locations.
With several years of industry experience under his belt, Anthony's passion for jewelry deepened, inspiring him to take an entrepreneurial leap. He became the proud owner of Delanes Jewelers, and shortly after, opened a second store-R&T Jewelers-both situated in the heart of Downtown Richmond.
Throughout his journey as a successful manager and business owner, Anthony built lasting friendships and business relationships in the City of Richmond. Known for his integrity, warmth, and commitment to community, he was invited by then-Mayor George Livingston to serve on the City of Richmond's Personnel Board. A role he held with distinction for several years.
Anthony is preceded in death by his father Herbert Taylor, Sr., Mother Margaret Reed, Stepfather Jake Reed, brothers Charles Edward Taylor, Herbert Taylor, Jr., and Grandson, Daniel Booker.
He is survived by his son, Anthony Taylor, Jr., (Franziska) daughters, Rondi and Sherri (Kenderry). Brother Robert. Sisters, Linda and Carol. Grandchildren, Ebonee, Brittani, Daijah, Zoe, Ashley, Lauren, Brooklynn and Dominque. Great-Grandchildren, Koryn, Kimberlynn, Everett, Kaliana, Kaliyah, Daniel, Jayson, Jayden and Jaliya. Great-Great Granddaughter Saniyah Hubbard. And a host of nieces and nephews.
About Our Father
"The strength of a father is reflected in the eyes of his children"
No one was like our dad. He was our biggest inspiration. Our family leaned on him during the tough times, and he was our rock that never let us down. His love was a constant force, sometimes quiet but always profound, supporting us through every triumph and challenge. Our father was one of those hard-working fathers that always made a way no matter the circumstances. He always put his family first and made sure we were protected no matter what.
Dad taught us the most valuable lessons through his actions. He showed us the importance of hard work, the power of kindness, and the strength found in vulnerability. His resilience in the face of adversity was inspiring, his grace in handling life's setbacks, humbling. His love extended beyond our family. He had a gift for making everyone feel valued, turning colleagues into friends with a genuine interest in their lives and a readiness to lend a helping hand. If our father considered you a friend, you were a friend for life.
He often bragged to his friends about how proud he was of us and what we had become but little did he know that we bragged about him! Our father had many accomplishments in his life but his coming into the true knowledge of how to serve the Most High God was the greatest of all. He was so thankful for the mercy the Lord had upon him. Giving him wisdom and understanding of God's Word, "as it is written". One of our dad's most memorable moments is when he attended his first Passover in Atlanta, GA. Our father was overjoyed to be a part of this celebration with his fellow Hebrew Israelite family. Celebrating this wonderful High Holy Day with our dad is something we will always cherish To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Anthony, please visit our floral store.
