Mr. Ardenio "Danny" Valeri, beloved husband of Ilva Ghiloni Valeri, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at Falmouth Hospital on Friday, July 4th, 2025. He was 87 years old. Born in Vittorito, Abruzzi, Italy, he was the son of the late Emidio and Angela Valeri. Ardenio immigrated to the U.S. in 1957, living first in Everett, then raising his family in Malden, before settling in Andover. Above all, Ardenio took great pride in his 52 year marriage to the love of his life, Ilva.
Ardenio is survived by his loving children: Emidio "Dino" Valeri of Andover; Angela Valeri of Andover; Dan and his wife Robin Valeri of Portsmouth, New Hampshire; and Carlo and his wife Janice Valeri of Lakeville. Ardenio is also survived by his cherished sister Adriana Presutti of Hamilton, Ontario, and devoted grandchildren: Jacqueline, Nicholas, Ardenio "Jake," Michael, Alicia, Brina, and Colby, to whom he was affectionately known as "Papa." He was the loving brother of the late Maria Santoro and her husband, the late Guido Santoro, the late Domenic Valeri and his surviving wife, Teresa, and brother-in-law Pasquale Presutti. Ardenio is also survived by his loving brother-in-law George and his wife Evelyn Ghiloni of Salem, New Hampshire, and many nieces and nephews.
Ardenio courageously immigrated on his own to America as a teenager with $5 in his pocket. He became a bricklayer and eventually ran his own business, V & G Masonry Corporation. At the peak of his career he employed 52 people. From there, he became a home builder, later working as a general contractor for Cormier Construction. Ardenio had the honor of building the Andover home he shared with Ilva, his son's Andover home, and the Falmouth home he shared with his children and grandchildren.
Ardenio was an extraordinarily hard worker and achieved the American dream. He spent 53 summers on Cape Cod and loved to work on projects around the house and in the yard. The few times he went to the beach, he did so in his slacks, sweater, and work boots. In his free time, Ardenio loved playing around on his computer, watching the Red Sox, and getting riled up about politics. He loved sweets and giving speeches to his family, friends, and anyone who would listen. He never lost his thick Italian accent, and loved America and the life he built here.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Ardenio's family at the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, on Friday, July 11th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. His funeral will be celebrated on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel at West Parish Garden Cemetery at 129 Reservation Road, Andover, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ardenio's memory may be made to Community Autism Resources (community-autism-resources.com/donate/). For additional information, please visit, burkemagliozzi.com.
