Arlen, mainly known as Little Arlen, Takoja, or Lukes, spent his days living it up at his home with his grandfather Arlen Jr (AJ), his step grandmother Tia, his aunts Alahntae & Sweeney, and his uncle Dennis. His normal days were filled with talking or bossing everyone around, not afraid to tell you when it was time to eat. During the days Little Arlen got to spend his day with his devoted and loving aunt Alahntae while everyone else worked or went to daycare. Loved beyond compare Little Arlen wasn't born to an easy life. He was born with a terminal illness that made life not so easy for him and from his doctor's perspective he wasn't promised to live past his first birthday. As time went on Little Arlen amazed his doctors and nurses with every appointment he grew and surpassed their thoughts on his diagnosis. Making leaps and bounds Little Arlen was the miracle baby, the little boy that touched everyone's hearts and beat the odds. Days before his passing, Little Arlen celebrated his 3rd birthday with his family in his home and even shared a meal and some cake with all that attended. He was a member of the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate and belonged to the Old Agency District. We are forever grateful for the time that we were given with our beloved Grandson, the smiles that were shared and the love that was given. With the time given Little Arlen taught many of us about patience, strength, the way to be resilient. No matter the cards that were dealt, Little Arlen was the joy everyone needed in their lives. Little Arlen is survived by his father Arlen III, mother Jaelyn, his siblings Ezra and Kyra; His Grandfather and caretakers Arlen Renville, Jr (Tia) of Agency Village SD. Grandmother Lyndsey DuMarce (Cody) of Wilmot SD. Along with his aunts Alahntae Renville, Janice Renville, Sweeney Renville, his uncles Carmelo Renville, Arnold Renville, and Dennis Renville all of Agency Village SD; Great grandparents Arlen Renville Sr. of Peever, SD and Genevieve Amos of Aberdeen, SD. Special thank you to Little Arlen's devoted therapists Lisa, Cristy, and Rachel for all their help as Little Arlen learned to meet so many different developmental goals in his life. We are grateful for our time spent with each of you.
