Arlene LaVanche Minter, age 89, of Rensselaer, IN, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025. Arlene was born in Remington, IN, on October 9, 1935, the daughter of George and Garnetta (Rardin) Geren. Arlene graduated from Rensselaer High School with the Class of 1953. Arlene married the love of her life, Kenneth Verdean Minter, on June 14, 1953, in Rensselaer, IN, and he preceded her in death on February 25, 2011. Arlene worked as a drug store clerk at Ribordy's in Rensselaer for 12 years and previously at Hallmark Store and Schumacher Electric. Arlene was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Rensselaer, IN. She was also a very involved member of the Jasper County Community Services Line Dancing program. Arlene enjoyed puzzles and drawing. She had a great time meeting with her coffee group at McDonalds. Arlene took pride in working in her yard when the weather allowed. Above all, she loved her family deeply, especially her grandkids. Arlene is survived by her children, Linda (Tony) Parker of Rensselaer, IN, Charlotte Miller of Lafayette, IN, Brenda Minter of Indianapolis, IN, Joy (Jim) Corning of Brook, IN; nine grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, four sisters, and two grandchildren, Greg Parker & Lori Hyatt. Friends may call upon the family at Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM CT. A Funeral Service will be held immediately following at 11:00 AM CT with Pastor Sean Johnson officiating. Interment at Osborne Cemetery, Rensselaer, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church or Jasper County Community Services.
