Arthur Herndon Obituary

Arthur "Wayne" Herndon, age 85, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. He was raised in Northeast Indiana and has resided in Ringgold, Georgia for the last 50 years. He proudly served in the United States Air Force Reserves for eight years. Wayne often watched Ringgold United Methodist Church's service on YouTube and enjoyed watching and quoting western movies, especially John Wayne. He had a passion for trains, planes and automobiles. He collected all kinds of airplane memorabilia, he was fascinated by and enjoyed riding on trains, and he owned multiple racecars in his early life. In the later part of his life, he also enjoyed woodworking.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Glen Herndon and Mary Young Herndon; brothers, Lloyd, Jack, and Robert Herndon.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 64 years, Judy Coleman Herndon; children, Diana Rogers, Steve (Vicki) Herndon, Linda (Bruce) Davenport, Jeff (Jennifer) Herndon, Brian (Crystal) Herndon, Roger (Natalie) Herndon; siblings, James Herndon and Joy Carlson, as well as nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
