Ashley Danielle Waggoner passed away on June 28th, 2025, and is now reunited with God and Jesus. Ashley was born on September 17th, 1987, to parents Michael and Mary Wilson. She was her mom’s “birthday angel” and brought her family so much joy. Ashley was a playful and happy child with long, brown curly hair. She looked just like her Grandma Statler.
Ashley attended Echoes Academy and graduated in 2005. She always had a deep love for animals and worked at PetSmart after graduation. In 2009, she moved with her family to Idaho. She loved being outdoors and hiking in Jackson Hole.
In 2011, Ashley met Dereck Waggoner. Their connection started online and quickly led to their first date. It was simple: dinner at Taco Bell and watching the movie Unstoppable. A movie they would watch over and over as their love grew. It wasn’t long after their first date that they knew they wanted to be together forever. Dereck proposed to Ashley at Mesa Falls, and they started their life together. Ashley soon met Dereck’s son Jerry, and he quickly became her own. Jerry loved Ashley and always looked up to her.
In October of 2013, Ashley and Dereck welcomed their daughter Isabelle. Isabelle was the greatest joy of Ashley’s life. She was thrilled to be a mother. Ashley was a loving, nurturing, and attentive mother. The bond she and Isabelle shared was her greatest accomplishment.
Dereck and Ashley were married and later purchased their family home in 2018, where Ashley loved making family memories. She loved her diamond crafts and watching a good Reality TV show. Ashley loved camping and being outdoors. Dereck and Ashley have many wonderful memories of her riding shotgun in the semi-truck and traveling to Salt Lake and back. Of all the things she enjoyed, the thing she loved most was her family. They will carry the love she gave them forever.
Ashley is survived by her husband, Dereck Waggoner; her children, Isabelle and Jerry Waggoner; her mother, Mary Wilson; and her in-laws, Lori and Clayton Orme, and Ron and Wanda Waggoner, and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Wilson; her grandparents, Bill and Verna Johnson, Ruth and Samson Wilson, Jerry and Wilma Freeman, Doris McGary, and Paul Waggoner.
A memorial service will be held at Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley on July 10, 2025, at 4:30 pm. Graveside services to follow at the Goshen Cemetery.
