Aubrey Jones, born May 18th, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois, was beloved by many for his vibrant spirit and zest for life. As Maya Angelou once said, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel," and this perfectly encapsulates the imprint Aubrey left on those he touched. Aubrey's natural talent for connecting with people through his warmth, humor, and heartfelt nicknames made him an unforgettable character in the tapestry of many lives. His passion for cooking, knack for handy work, and his impeccable sense of style were a few of the many facets that made Aubrey, Aubrey.
Aubrey's life was a symphony filled with the melody of love, laughter, and an enduring devotion to his family, especially his mother, Evie. His selfless dedication to ensuring that she was always supported and comfortable showcased the depths of his compassionate nature. Aubrey's favorite saying, "It's bigger than what y'all think it is," served as a testament to his understanding of life's complexities and the power of love, support, and humor in overcoming them. His love for music echoed his vibrant energy and reflected his belief in the power of unity and harmony.
Aubrey Jones is survived by his mother, Evie Moore, his sisters Sammie Lee, Diane Owolabi, and Peggy Jones, his nieces Kiounna Jones, Diamond Jones, and Michelle Jones, his nephews Cortez Jones, Emarion Jones, Alexander Jones, and Deonte Jones, and his great-nephew and great-niece, Marquis Davenport and Bryannah Davenport. He is preceded in death by his father Robert Jones, his siblings Catherine Jones, Annie Smith, Sadie Jones, Robert Jr, and his nephews Mark Lee, Peter Jones, Donald Jones and great-nephew Christopher Stewart.
Please join us to celebrate Aubrey's life at the Angelus Funeral Home, 8243 South Ashland Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, 60620. The public visitation will take place on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025 at 1:00 pm CST, followed by a wake on Monday, February 3rd, 2025 at 9:30 am CST. The funeral service will commence at 10:00 am CST on the same day.
