Audrey Breedlove Obituary

GLENVILLE - Audrey Norris Breedlove, 101, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Born in Mill Creek Oct. 19, 1923, Audrey was one of four children born to Nathan and Laura Norris who were one of the first cabbage farming families in the Glenville area.
Shortly after graduating from high school, Audrey married her high school sweetheart, Cameron Breedlove. Cameron was called into the Navy shortly after the wedding and Audrey went to work at the Dayco rubber plant in Waynesville during his time in the military.
After Cameron returned home, they moved to Cedar Creek and built their forever home, where they welcomed their only daughter, Marlene. Audrey owned her own beauty shop in Cashiers for over twenty years until her retirement. Audrey and Cameron were married for 47 beautiful years until their time was cut short by a fatal accident in 1989.
Audrey dedicated over 60 years to serving the Glenville-Cashiers Rescue Squad Auxiliary, of which she was a founding member. She was an active and dedicated member of the Hamburg Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, worked on the grounds crew and volunteered her time serving others across the country with the NC Baptist Men's disaster relief crew. In her later years, she was also a vital member of the Cashiers Baptist Church, where she attended church every Sunday until a period of declining health prevented her from going.
Upon her retirement Audrey spent her days filled with her favorite things; cooking, gardening, hunting with her grandsons and spending time with her beloved family. She had a gift for gardening and both her vegetable and flower gardens were beautiful every year. She loved cooking and feeding her people, you could never leave her home without a wonderful meal being served by her.
She and Cameron taught her grandsons to hunt and fish and that legacy lives on today. She spent countless hours with her family attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events, teaching them to cook and sharing her love for the Lord.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Laura; siblings, Jessie, Carl and Mary; and her beloved husband, Cameron.
She is survived by her daughter Marlene (Ray) Fowler; grandsons, Max (Elise), Ron (Missy) and Tim (Jennifer); and four great-grandchildren, Kyra, Cameron, Ava and Asher Fowler.
Funeral services took place at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 5 at Cashiers Baptist Church. The family received friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., prior to the service in the church fellowship hall. Burial followed at the Hamburg Baptist Cemetery immediately following the service.

Thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday, and the day before that, too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories in a picture and a frame. Your memory as a keepsake with which I´ll never part God has you in his keeping and I have you in my heart..forever.... love ya Mimi
