Memorial services for Audrey Montgomery Dillard, 82, of Gilmer, Texas, will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, August 31, 2024, in the Chapel of McWhorter Funeral Home. She was born August 5, 1942, to Floyd and Artie Yates Montgomery and passed from this life on August 20, 2024, in Gilmer, Texas.
Audrey graduated from Bruce High School and went on to receive her Master of Education from Prairie View A&M. She was a teacher within the Dallas Independent School District for many years before her retirement. Later on, she met and married Clint Dillard Jr.
Audrey, also known as "Fuzz", enjoyed taking care of her sister, Rhonda, traveling to New Orleans and other cities. Fuzz also enjoyed going into the field looking at cattle, working, cleaning, and tending to her cats, Midnight and Bertha. Fuzz would also frequently communicate with a lot of her dear friends via phone or in person.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Lucy Goss (James Rex), Carol Elder, and Rhonda Montgomery; brother-in-law, Dr. John Johnson; nephews, Keith Montgomery, and Jason Johnson; nieces, Tracie Goss and Kimberly Goss; fur babies, Bertha and Midnight; and a host of cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Artie Montgomery; brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Asalee Montgomery; and her sister, Valra Johnson.
