Austin MaeLynn Acres-Walker, known to everybody as Austy, was born on March 10, 2003 to Dustin and Brandy Acres at Presbyterian St. Luke's in Denver, CO. Austy was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, leading to three open heart surgeries at ages 3 days, 4 months, and 4 years. She received her first heart transplant at 6 years old, giving her family the ultimate gift of more time with our girl. As Austy's health flourished after her first transplant, so did Austy. Austy attended New Vision Charter School for grades K-8, then attended Mountain View High School, where she graduated in 2022 with a CNA certification through the TCC program. Austy was always great with money, including being a master player of Monopoloy as a kid, so she easily found her niche as a teller with Independent Financial, now titled SouthState Bank, after graduating high school. Austy met the love of her life, Thomas Walker, in October of 2021. They married in February of 2024 after being told she was being put on the list to receive a second heart transplant. The couple kept their official status as husband and wife secret and planned to announce their marriage on their wedding day of June 7th, 2025. Austy loved the number 7 as she'd always considered it her lucky number. She was hospitalized during her scheduled wedding day due to complications from her second transplant received in October of 2024, but remained the most beautiful and gracious bride as family and friends came to visit her and enjoy the efforts made by her favorite hospital staff. Throughout her life, Austy had several great passions. Amongst them included Princess Aurora, Kenny Chesney, Marvel movies, key lime pie, crochet, Ozzy Osbourne, flowers, being an entrepreneur and above all, her family. Austy took great pride in being a big sister, daughter, grandbaby, niece, cousin, auntie, cat-mom, and wife. Austy loved each member of her family, blood and chosen, with a fierceness only describable as "the way Austy loves." Austy was always thinking about those around her, even in her final days of life. Austy gained her angel wings on June 16, 2025 surrounded by her family and one of her favorite nurses. In her final days, she continued to joke, made each member of her family make promises for after she was gone, and loved with everything she had left. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and made us all aware that she'd be with us as our guardian angel. Austy was at peace knowing that she would be reunited with those who had passed before her, and especially with her dogs, Drake, Sporty, Mickey, and Avery. Austy is survived by her husband, Thomas Walker, and cat Lanny; her dad, Dustin Acres (Tiffany) and siblings Bristol and Colton; her mom Brandy Hernandez (JD), and siblings Braelynn, Janessa, and Cooper; Paternal Grandparents Mark and Julie Acres; Aunt Sara and cousin Maddie; Maternal grandparents Bonnie and Gary Smith; Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Scott and cousins Amber, Ryan, and Haley; Aunt Denise and Uncle Doug and cousins Tyler and Makayla; Uncle Gary and Aunt Kendra with cousins Kainen, Kado, Tyler, Mikey, and Jarron; and her in-laws: Andi (mother), Chris (father), Carrie (sister), Kelly (sister) and husband Jake, and Nadia (niece). Since the day Austy was born, she never stopped fighting for her life. In the last month of her life, she put up the strongest and bravest fight of all. She made unmeasurable connections with her medical staff from both Children's Hospital and Anschutz Medical Center, and never forgot to say "thank you" each and every time they walked out her door. Her family would like to express their utmost gratitude for taking care of our girl from her first breath on Earth to her last. Another angel is sitting around the throne, and the family thanks everyone for their unconditional love and support as we mourn our Austy. We take comfort in knowing that she is at peace and waiting as patiently as possible for us to join her. A formal viewing will be held at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home in Loveland, CO, followed by graveside services at Austy's final resting place in the Loveland Cemetery. By Austy's request, her celebration of life party will be hosted at her grandparents home in Loveland.
