Stanley Butner Obituary

Stanley "Lenny" "Stan" L. Butner, 76, formerly of Erie, PA & East Vandergrift, PA peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 in the loving company of his nephew Christopher Campanella in Ross Township, PA.
Born April 10, 1949 in East Vandergrift, he was the son of the late Stanley Butner and Helen (Lekavich) Butner. Lenny was particularly proud of his father's Naval Service during WWI and WWII as well as his Lithuanian heritage.
Lenny was a 1967 graduate of Kiski Area High School, and was the former owner/operator of Airport Beer in Erie and last worked at ACL Laboratories.
As a young boy he was an altar server at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, formerly St. Casimir Catholic Church in East Vandergrift. He also excelled as a baseball player in the Connie Mack Baseball Youth League.
Lenny was a skilled self-taught handyman and liked building things, and was a firearm enthusiast. He enjoyed classic country music and cooking. Lenny was a man who made thoughtfulness a practice acknowledging others with small gestures of kindness.
In addition to his parents, Lenny was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria (Butner) Campanella and Michael J. Campanella, who served as a caring father figure throughout his life.
Lenny is survived by his nephews, Christopher (Rhonda) Campanella of Ross Township, Michael (Heather Swanson) Campanella of DeBary, FL; great niece, Gianna Campanella of Ross Township; and other cousins with Ken Hegedus of Lower Burrel, PA being particularly close.
Blessing Service will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 11:00 am in the St. Joseph Chapel at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Vandergrift, PA. Details will be provided for a luncheon to follow.
