Avis was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James William McCallum, Sr., and is survived by her four loving and devoted children: Jimmy McCallum (Vicki), Beth Propp (Lee), Beverly Barkley (Robert), Stan McCallum (Alice); four grandchildren, McCallum Propp (Heather), Caroline Roach (Justin), Rebeccah Propp(Jack), and Clifton McCallum (Sara); and four great grandchildren: Fallon and Sutton Propp, Emsley Roach, and Callie Simpson.
She was a homemaker whose talents included sewing, gardening and cooking gourmet meals. Avis, along with her two daughters, delivered Meals on Wheels for over 13 years. She also served as vice president and secretary for the family pharmacy business. Avis was also past president for the Women's Auxiliary of the SC Pharmaceutical Association and an active faithful member of Central Presbyterian Church for over 70 years.
