It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Jean Beckham, who departed this life on July 19, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on August 17, 1939, in East St. Louis, Illinois, Barbara lived her life marked by her deep love of God, her church, and her family. Her faith was the foundation of her life and shone through in all she did. Barbara will be remembered for her extraordinary musical talent – whether playing the piano or organ for church services and weddings or lifting her voice in song as a part of a choir, duet, or quartet. She was a proud charter member of the St. Augustine First Church of the Nazarene where she devoted countless hours of service and fellowship. In addition to her music, she faithfully served her church in many roles over the years, including missionary president, Sunday school teacher, and board member. Barbara was an accountant by trade, working for various businesses, including Flagler College, where she dedicated 15 years of service before retiring. She then continued to serve others through her own bookkeeping business for many years. Outside of work and church, Barbara was an avid bowler who participated in numerous leagues throughout her adult life. She loved the camaraderie and competition, often traveling to tournaments in other states and served as secretary-treasurer for several leagues. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Taylor (Jess) and Joelle Sutton; her brother, Robert (Pat) Wall, her cherished grandchildren, Kristen Newberry (Jackson) and Kayley Ampolini (Jude); and her adored great-grandchildren, Caleb, Gabriel, Magnolia, Noah, James, and Andrew. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Melvin Beckham, and her siblings Leroy Wall Jr, James Wall, and Peggy Tucker. A service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home in St. Augustine, FL. A visitiation 5:00pm – 6:30pm will precede the services. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor her life and share memories. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Augustine Church of the Nazarene online at www.saintaugnaz.com Barbara's legacy of faith, music, service, dedication, and love continue to be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
