Barbara "Ann" Williams Braswell, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus surrounded by her daughters on July 2, 2025. She was 88 years old (2 months shy of 89) and a resident of Magnolia, Arkansas (formerly of the Marysville community).
She was born at home in the Marysville on September 10, 1936. She was a devoted homemaker, and dedicated her life to caring for others with love, compassion, and grace.
She found great joy in the simple, beautiful moments of life. Her green thumb could make anything thrive in her flower gardens that were a reflection of her – vibrant, and full of life. A gifted cook, her kitchen was always filled with delicious aromas of meals made with love. Family favorites were lovingly prepared and became treasured traditions at birthdays and holidays. She believed that food was more than sustenance; it was a way of bringing people together.
She loved to travel and explore new places (and especially great food!), always returning home with stories and souvenirs for others. No matter how far she roamed, her greatest joy was being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Braswell, a daughter, Melissa Glass, her parents, Con and Minnie Williams, and her sister, Peggy Williams.
She is survived by her daughters: Mona (Pete) Watson of Magnolia, Millie (Jim) Crites of Bossier City, Louisiana and Macy (Mike) Braswell of Magnolia; her son-in-law: Terry Glass of Marysville; grandchildren: Marty (Laura) Glass of El Dorado, Leah (Aaron) Smith of Magnolia, Brittany (Matthew) Speake, Brooke (Chase) Helm, and Brandon Watson of Magnolia, Erin (Jerad) Morrison of Longview, Texas and Ethan Crites of Bossier City, Louisiana, Grace Braswell, Genna Braswell, Gillian Braswell, and Gabriel Braswell of Magnolia.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at 1:00 p.m., funeral services will follow at Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Roger Dunlap and Bro. Karry Easley officiating. Burial will take place immediately after the service at Marysville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Marty Glass, Aaron Smith, Matthew Speake, Chase Helm, Brandon Watson, Jerad Morrison, Ethan Crites. Gabriel Braswell will serve as honorary pallbearer.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to The Marysville Cemetery Association (1342 Braswell Corner Road, Magnolia, AR 71753) or Shriners Children's Shreveport (3100 Samford Ave., Shreveport, LA 71103).
